Masaru Isonuma is a JSPS Overseas Research Fellow (postdoc) at the University of Edinburgh, working with Prof. Ivan Titov. His research focuses on the training data of language models (LMs), investigating which training data influences LMs' performance, what LMs fundamentally learn from the data, and how to optimize it. Prior to joining the Edinburgh NLP group, he earned his PhD from the University of Tokyo, where he studied text summarization and topic models under the supervision of Ichiro Sakata, Junichiro Mori, and Danushka Bollegala.
